Boy, n.: a noise with dirt on it. ~Not Your Average Dictionary
Ten years ago today, Rob and I met William Clark for the very first time, and at that instant, everything we thought we knew about parenting and babies went right out the window. William is pretty much the opposite of normal, whatever that may be, and that is what makes him so special. He has kept us on toes every second of his life, and I have a feeling that he will continue do so for the rest of our lives. He is unpredictable and stubborn as heck. His hobbies including pushing buttons and breaking all the rules. He also enjoys turning my hair gray. And I love him to the moon and back. Thank you, William, for being… you. Happy 10th Birthday!!!
I know God will not give me anything I can’t handle. I just wish that He didn’t trust me so much. ~Mother Teresa
Happy 10th Birthday, William Clark!!!
Likely as not, the child you can do the least with will do the most to make you proud. ~Mignon McLaughlin, The Second Neurotic’s Notebook, 1966
A happy New Year! Grant that I
May bring no tear to any eye
When this New Year in time shall end
Let it be said I’ve played the friend,
Have lived and loved and labored here,
And made of it a happy year.
From our family to yours, Happy New Year!!!
“Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest.” ~Larry Lorenzoni
I had a wonderful birthday today. Thank you so much to everyone who called to sing me Happy Birthday. It was so nice to hear from all of you. Thank you also to Rob for the Zac Brown CD. It is a great album and I will probably wear Knee Deep out by playing it so much! The hot fudge cake you made me was absolutely delicious and the cream cheese frosting made it extra special. You are too good to me. And thank you to my parents who, of all days they could have come for a visit, decided to arrive today. I always love it when you are here and I am looking forward to spending the next few days dragging you to all the best spots in and around town.
As Rob was kind enough to point out today, I will be 40 on 8-18-18. He will be 50 four days prior, so we decided that we will have a big 4-0 and 5-0 party together. It was decided that Save the Date cards should be sent out now. I would love to tell you the reason, but it is rather morbid, so we will just skip that part. Instead, keep in mind that in seven years, Rob and I will be having a party with our turtle, and we would love it if you all could join us.
But for now, I am going to enjoy my last year in my early 30’s. Thank you again to everyone for making today so special.
