It’s Fine to be Nine

A characteristic of the normal child is he doesn’t act that way very often.  ~Author Unknown

I had planned on sharing more with you, but I have only 8 minutes left until midnight and it will no longer be William’s birthday, so I have to make this FAST!!

My first-born, my wild child. My questioner of authority. My pusher of buttons, and luck. What on earth would I do without you? Sure, my hair would not be going grey and I probably wouldn’t have so many stress lines on my face, but you know what buddy? Life just wouldn’t be the same. I’ll take the grey. I’ll take the wrinkles. I’ll take the sleepless nights. Just so long as I get you.

Thank you for being so insane. Thank you for being the one who won’t take no for an answer. Thank you for being the one who keeps me on my toes. Thank you for simply being you. You are truly one of a kind, my dear.

Happy 9th Birthday, William Clark. I love you to the moon and back.

  1. Looks like Will had a very happy birthday! I’m glad you were able to get him the bike he wanted. He has grown up so fast and the twins are right behind him. Too bad we can’t slow down time just a little bit. It seems to be dragging for you during the school year but that’s in the moment. Look how fast the years are speeding by. Does it feel like 9 years have passed since Will was born? Sure doesn’t to me! Enjoy them while you can. Before you know it, the years will be gone and so will the kids:( See you all tomorrow!!!!!!Yippeee!!!!!:)

    • Time does fly. It seems as though the days go by faster and faster. It does not seem as though Boo should be 9, and yet, it appears to be so. I’m hanging on as tightly as I can…
