“I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in.” ~John Muir, 1913, in L.M. Wolfe, ed., John Muir, John of the Mountains: The Unpublished Journals of John Muir, 1938
We celebrated Earth Day with a picnic down at Giant Springs State Park. This has to be one of the nicest spots here in town. It is so peaceful, beautiful, relaxing. The sun was warm, the wind calm. It was a gorgeous day.
After eating our fill of yummy picnic food, we took a walk on the path along the Mighty Mo. The springs, as always, were extremely beautiful and calming.
Some very fragrant yellow flowers were adding some pretty color to the still-bleak landscape.
This pretty little girl was busy eating lunch while her partner slept on the rocks close by.
I’m not sure what this robin saw, but she stood there staring for the longest time.
And just when I thought she was going to fly off, she came out and posed.
I hope you were able to get outside and enjoy nature today.
