My 52: Week 10

I may be a day late with this week’s post, but after what we saw today out at Freezout Lake, I don’t feel a dollar short. Earlier this week, we had heard that the snow geese and tundra swans were returning to the lake on their way North. We had attempted to see them last fall when they were on their way South, but all the roads were closed for duck hunting season. That was not the case today. We were able to drive all the way around the lake, and while we couldn’t get very close to the geese, we were still able to see their mass numbers. We also saw a lot of pintails, but I think I will save those for next week. 🙂

  1. What a gorgeous bird!!! Too bad they will be gone by the time we make it up there. You took some great pictures of them! Thanks for sharing.

    • They are very pretty, I just wish we could have gotten closer to them… They will most likely be gone by the end of the month. Sure was neat to be able to see them, though.
