Have you ever heard a song but never really listened to the words? Then one day you hear the song again, and suddenly it all makes sense?
Rob and I went to Idaho last weekend. We were on our way to make a pretty big decision. A decision that would determine what exactly our next step would be. A decision that we knew would make many people question our sanity.
And while we were on our road trip, I put in my new CD, the one Rob had given me for my birthday. I hadn’t heard the CD very many times, but it is safe to say that until that ride in the car, I hadn’t actually heard it at all.
“Save your strength for things that you can change, forget the one’s you can’t. You gotta let it go.”
That was exactly what we needed to hear.
That one little line in one little song changed the whole mood in the car. Suddenly we found ourselves not worrying about what we couldn’t control, but looking ahead to what we could. What a difference it made.
Let it go…
Easier said than done, but definitely worth the effort.
