One Day at a Time

Things have been a little more stressful lately than I like them to be. There are big changes in store for us. Some were planned but are happening a little sooner than we had expected, others were unplanned but have been added in order to accommodate other changes. But as Abraham Lincoln once said,

The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.

I couldn’t agree more. So, that is what we are doing. We are taking it one day at a time, and I am reminding myself daily that all you can do is your best. And just because things don’t turn out the way you hoped or wanted, doesn’t mean they turned out wrong. They just turned out different, and different isn’t necessarily bad. Sometimes different is refreshing. Even needed.

I am not sure I am going to be able to keep up the Post A Day. School starts next week and I am starting a second job as well, so I’m not sure yet how much I will be able to do. Perhaps I will downgrade to Post A Week. Either way, I will still be here. Reading, writing, laughing, crying. But I will be surrounded by this crazy zoo I call family, and that is what matters most of all.

“There is only one success – to be able to spend your life in your own way”

  1. Posting weekly is better than not posting at all, so please don’t stress about it. Just do what you can, when you can. We will still be here, waiting to read your great posts.
I opted for posting weekly because I knew I wouldn’t be able to maintain the Postaday challenge, and I am happy with that.

  2. My heart is heavy because I know the kind of stress you are under and what is responsible. Your family loves you and we are only a phone call away. I will do as much as I can.

    • We are the ones who made the choices, and therefore the only ones responsible. In the end, these aren’t the things that really matter. Sure, they are somewhat painful to go through, but life goes on, and everything will turn out fine.

  3. Ok Mariah.. it is ok to cut down but please do not cut out altogether. I would miss you so much..even if it was just once a week.
I can see that you will be busy, especially going back to work, so I do understand, but what with Paula going and now you..we shall be deserted!
Take care and do stay in touch,,you really are an asset to this WordPress community

  4. We really feel badly for what’s about to transpire but, please don’t forget we’re always near (well, sort of) and will help you out any way we can. If you EVER need anything, please, please, please don’t hesitate to call. We love you all sooooo much!!!!

P.S. We have loved reading your blogs on a daily basis. You are such a magnificent writer and we’ve loved being able to keep up with your family and experience all the fun and laughter and beauty in your lives. But, if you can only manage once a week, or every other week, we would all understand.

P.S.S. Our kitties would love Flash, too!

    P.S.S.S. We love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Thank you so much for all your support, but everything will be just fine. Different perhaps than we envisioned, but fine none the less. If there is one thing Rob and I are good at, it is bouncing back. This might slow us down a little bit, but we will always bounce back. Especailly with our awesome family members behind us. 🙂 We love you, too.
