A Day For Fools… Me Included

April Fool’s Day is one of my least favorite days of the year. I have a hard enough time telling when people are joking in normal settings. Give us a day full of practical jokes and I am in a whole lot of trouble.

I think I did pretty well this year. I learned that the Governor of Montana, Brian Schweitzer, announced his run for presidency with Walter Breuning (at 114 years old, he is currently the second oldest verified person in the world) as his Vice President. Also, the ‘super loads’ that are travelling through Montana will pass through Glacier National Park. (WHAT!?! WHY on earth would they do that?!?) But it wasn’t until I got to the bottom of that page of the newspaper and saw a rooster smoking that I realized I was had. And just before I sent the newspaper sailing across the room, I saw that the Tribune had received a Pulitzer for outstanding journalism…

I took Rob’s advice this morning when he told me not to believe anything I heard today. Perhaps next year I won’t believe anything I read either…
