“A singular aspect of the wilderness is that it gratifies every one of the senses.” ~Robert Marshall
Going-to-the-Sun Road could not be more perfectly named. Especially in the morning, when you are climbing in the shadows, getting closer and closer to where the sun touches the mountains. What an unbelievable drive with absolutely breathtaking views. You are surrounded by crystal clear creeks and peaks that all but touch the sky. Even though they don’t always show themselves, the animals are everywhere, and sometimes you are lucky enough to see a grizzly cub, or a couple of bighorn rams resting after a little tussle. Glacier National Park is one of those places where you leave feeling as though you were part of something truly magical. Happy 100th Birthday, Glacier!!
Oh, I am soooo jealous. I think GNP is my favorite place. Just how close did you get to that bear? What a great way to spend a weekend!
We had a great time and thought of you often, knowing how much you love it. The bear was right in front of the van! The park rangers believe him to be an orphan. I hit the wrong button and posted before I finished writing, so I am going to be posting that soon. Hope you had a great weekend!
