It is hard to believe, but summer vacation is over already. Today was the first day of school. Only this year, William does not have to go alone. The twins headed out the door with him on their way to kindergarten. Even I went along and began my career as a Teacher’s Aide. The kids all had a great day, loved their classes, enjoyed their teachers and made new friends. I made my rounds from the library to recess, back to the library and then onto the lunchroom and out for another recess. I was able to watch my kids in their school setting, see them play with their friends. I realized today that even though I was really looking forward to my quiet time once school started back up again, there is something more important I get to do first. I get to watch my kids grow on the outside, in their own world, in their own setting. This is just the beginning for them, and lucky me, I get to be there for it. With an opportunity like that, who needs quiet time?
